What are the sources of success, innovation, value generation and sustainability of companies and regions?

Intellectual Capital (IC) plays a fundamental role in the generation of value. IC gathers intangible assets as human capital, the ability to perform research and innovate, intellectual property, organisational and relational elements.
Through the valorisation of IC one can provide a significant contribution to the competitiveness of companies and districts, the productivity of research and of the public sector thereby stimulating regional growth.
The IC is also part of the evaluation mechanisms needed to obtain financing within the framework of the Basel II bank regulations.
The workshop involves some of the most skilled European experts on Intellectual Capital and has the objective to:
- Raise awareness on Intellectual Capital and experience it interactively.
- Illustrate success cases with direct witnesses from companies.
- Understand how to create value by making explicit the hidden and intangible assets.
- Identify the drivers that stimulate the innovative and renewal ability of organisations, companies and regions.

The workshop adopts interactive methods and involves companies, trade associations, banks, research centres, technology transfer experts and public organisations that stimulate economic development.

The initiative is organised by Firenze Tecnologia and is supported by the EC Interreg IIIC South through two projects:
- RKM net – Réseaux Européenne pour la Gestion des Connaissances au niveau régional (Regional Knowledge Management Network)
- INNODEC - INdicateurs inNOvants pour une intervention active dans les Dynamiques du système Economique local (Innovative indicators for an active intervention in the dynamics of local economic systems)
