Towards the Lisbon Agenda – Developing Regional Competence through human resource management, 19 November 2004

In the knowledge and competence intensive society it is increasingly difficult to rationally measure competence by any of the types of formal qualifications and titles, as they are currently understood. Thus there is a growing demand for new methods of defining, describing and mapping competence and intellectual capital of a region.

This event focuses on the drivers and tools that have been implemented to stimulate knowledge and competence growth so as to strengthen the competitiveness of organisations and regions.

The Regional Competence project has adapted and developed tools and methods for registration and validation of competence at individual and organisational levels. These tools are free to be used and adapted by the regions. In practical terms they can help regions to focus their regional training policies and to use the existing funds, such as the European Structural Fund, in a more effective way.

Come and meet other local and regional practitioners, policy makers and experts!
