Following the Florence clustering event the e-Compete consortium would like to invite the innovation community in Europe to a three-day workshop on Competence Development in European SMEs.
Some of the key issues addressed during the group meetings in Florence will be elaborated in Gremmelin, i.e.
- Networking and open sourcing innovation tools
- Combining global thinking with local learning processes
- Innovation through open learning processes
- Regional perspective in the context of innovation systems, and SMEs involvement
Furthermore the participants will have the opportunity to validate a course developed within the Innovation project e-COMPETE on e-learning management, implementing e-learning in an organization, which has been adapted for the European community. The onsite workshop is followed by a 2-week online course moderated by the e-compete team.

Accommodation incl. all meals: 159 € per person per day (excl. drinks)
Gut Gremmelin has state-of-the-art conferencing facilities and guestrooms. There is Internet access via wireless lan and Ethernet.
e-Learning management: Implementing e-learning in an organization
Introduction
e-Learning – the skills to assess e-learning offerings, to access knowledge on the net, to learn. to share knowledge, to collaborate, efficiently, creatively, and critically via electronic neworks, and to integrate e-learning into the company’s work flow are key competencies to stimulate innovation processes in enterprises.
This course will give a general introduction into what e-learning is and what its potential is for SMEs, and provides the learners with tools and skills to evaluate e-learning, to collaborate online, to integrate e-learning into the daily work process.

learners in European SMEs – from one person consultancy enterprises to companies up-to 400 employess.
decision-makers in European SMEs
trainers and decision-makers in education and training institutions providing training for SMEs
decision-makers in SME umbrella and representative organisations
entrepreneurs in start-up companies and unemployed people, who plan to start-up a new company
Topics and contents
- Introduction to e-learning
o Definition of e-learning, developments, opportunities, limits
- Self-paced learning and learning strategies
o Background, learning cultures, types of learners, e-learning approaches, learning in organisation
- Learning psychology and motivation
o Introduction to learning theories – behaviourism, cognitivism, constructionism, and their implications for e-learning
- Media-literacy
o How to learn efficiently, problem-oriented, the importance of creative and critical thinking for innovation and change in organisations
- Implementing e-learning in the enterprise
o Arguments for or against e-learning, making an e-learning strategy, evaluating the e-learning market, benchmarking e-learning products, cost-benefit analysis
- Practice/Assessment
o Developing concepts for the implementation of e-learning in the enterprise
