COLLABORATIVE INNOVATION

Process Descriptions and Case Studies from the test-bed initiative "Innovation & SMEs programme"

During FP5 (1998-2002), 76 Innovation Projects and 6 Accompanying Measures (AM), resulting from 3 calls for proposals in the years 1999, 2000 and 2001, were initiated within the Action Line "New Approaches to Technology Transfer" of the programme "Promotion of Innovation and Encouragement of SME Participation".

Since some time an editorial team from the accompanying measure LIFESTYLE (Lars Karlsson, Paolo Mario Remo Martinez and Mariana Sireteanu-Gustavsson) has, together with Francisco Fernández Fernández, been working on a publication that now is ready to go to print.

The primary objective of this publication is to make, the rich sources of experience, available to a wider public and to offer them as a basis for a further understanding of the innovation process as such.

We also want to take the opportunity to re-activate the network and Innovation Community around the Innovation Web portal www.eucluster.net.

Here you can also download the draft manuscript to COLLABORATIVE INNOVATION (PDF file).

Many of you have already been contacted by Paolo Martinez or myself. We thank you for your cooperation.

But with the long production time we want to give you all the opportunity to amend and/or complement the final draft manuscript before it goes to the printers.

We also particularly ask you to send us references to publications, public reports, web sites, etc. that are related to your projects and the programme "Promotion of Innovation and Encouragement of SME Participation". We are also interested to know about follow up activities and projects.

We will then include this information in the final version. We also will give you opportunity to publish links over the http://www.eucluster.net/. (and within reason also for PDF load downs of your publications etc.)

Please send your comments, amendments, links, references etc. to Lars Karlsson at e-mail office@hippo.org not later than 15 september.

Best regards
Lars Karlsson
